Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV: An electric car that will instantly captivate you
We spoke with Martin Starek, the owner of our company STAREK Transport, about his impressions of driving the Mercedes-Benz EQS, which he tested for two weeks, both during his work assignments and moments spent with his family. You can read below how he evaluates driving an electric car and whether the vehicle convinced him enough to consider it for his own garage.
When I got the opportunity from Motor Žilina to test the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV as part of the EPP (Electric Partner Program), I must say, I was truly curious. I own a GLE model, which has an internal combustion engine, but the Mercedes brand is always strongly addictive for me. Our company also owns an electric car of another brand, so electromobility is not entirely unknown to us, but the EQS SUV is something completely different. After the first few kilometers, it was clear that the EQS SUV is not just another electric car, but a truly exceptional vehicle. Its design appealed to me immediately upon first contact, and the glances of passers-by only confirmed this. You simply notice it on the road. The ride was quiet, smooth, yet very dynamic. Electric powertrains have the advantage of instantly delivering power, and every acceleration was an experience. Not to mention, the EQS SUV is also a very comfortable and spacious car that won't let you down even on long journeys. Since we operate in logistics, I primarily drove the EQS SUV for work. I travel frequently, and this car is literally made to be enjoyed, especially on longer trips. The idea of constant charging and a short range that limits you is mistaken. With proper time management, it's rather an additional benefit and an opportunity to spend time differently than behind the wheel. With sufficient availability of charging stations and a range that fully met my needs, the electric car experience was stress-free. We decided to use the weekend for a family ski trip to Jasná, and again, I was pleasantly surprised. With all-wheel drive and good handling in winter conditions, I had no concerns whatsoever. The EQS SUV showed me that electromobility can be just as comfortable and safe as conventional powertrains, while also offering additional benefits. Although I still use my Mercedes-Benz GLE with an internal combustion engine, the EQS SUV gave me a new perspective on electric vehicles. And who knows, maybe in the future, such a Mercedes will become part of our company ;-).
